Paperboard based packaging products are renewable alternatives for packages made traditionally from oil-based polymer materials and can be used of various [1]. Embossing is in solutions to increase the functionality appearance products. It also product safety by improving distinctiveness identifiability [2]. The aim study was evaluate patternability fibre-based materials. desired that accuracy details embossed pattern would same all samples, regardless their different material properties. realization this evaluated several analyses related performance embossing process. Eleven sample were collected experiments so could studied extensively. common denominator selected testing they paper paperboard industry. Set tools developed, precision machined brass, experiments. A laboratory scale mechanical device utilized modification surfaces main variables forming pressing force tool temperature. samples observed primarily visually - with naked eye, a scanning electron microscope 3D-profilometer which topography analysis achieved patterns. results test series confirmed height increased as function plate temperature spring back occurred after plates opened. deduced dimensions somewhat determined achievable materials, but amount springback did not change thickness. Despite finding, it consistent regularly reduced higher temperatures. optimization magnitude showed excessive use required, beneficial reducing risk damage during processing adjustment devices. All differing significantly each other found suitable embossing, indicating patterns such those tested added variety applications.
